Taib sworn in as CM

Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud was sworn in as Sarawak Chief Minister shortly after Barisan Nasional secured a two-thirds majority win in the 10th state election.




SWORN IN... Sarawak Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud taking his oath after Barisan Nasional's win in the 10th Sarawak state election tonight. BN won with 55 seats, DAP 12, PKR 3 and Independent 1.

BN kekal majoriti 2/3 tapi hilang 8 kerusi

Keputusan keseluruhannya, BN memenangi 55 kerusi, DAP (12), PKR (3) dan Bebas (1). Keputusan itu menunjukkan BN kehilangan lapan kerusi, berbanding 63 kerusi yang dimenanginya pada 2006.

DAP menambah enam kerusi kepada 12 kerusi, manakala PKR juga menambah satu kerusi menjadi tiga. DAP dan PKR juga menyapu bersih semua lima kerusi di Kuching. Jumlah pemilih keluar mengundi ialah 70 peratus.

Menurut Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya (SPR), BN mendapat undi terbanyak dengan 372,379 undi, diikuti DAP (134,847), Snap (15,663), PKR (117,100), PAS (9,719), PCM (2,895) dan Bebas (20,064).

Manakala seramai 71 calon telah hilang wang deposit.
